Bristol Golf Centre

Nicky is however, leaving the business in excellent shape and it is well renowned as the best place to buy golf equipment, learn the game, practice your golf or play adventure golf in an informal setting for miles around.

There are many facets to the business. The golf retail superstore is leased to American Golf, who run a superb operation which specialises in expert product knowledge, exceptional customer care and golf club custom fitting. Prior to this it was run in-house by Nicky who decided to sell the golf retail side of the business to American Golf so that he could focus on developing other parts of the centre.

The 23 bay covered floodlit range is beautifully appointed. It always has top quality mats, perfectly functioning Power Tees in all of the bays, new balls, and queuing for a bay has always been a normal activity at the golf centre. Nicky and his team have always been fastidious in their care for the customer experience. That is why it is renowned as being one of the best-kept golf ranges in the country and is always spotless throughout. All of the behind-the-scenes workings of the golf range are professionally managed and work beautifully; even in the worst of weather a golfer will never see a muddy ball. Hi-Nets have installed their first-class ball stop fencing around the range, ensuring that there are no problems with ball escape or safety.

The 18 hole adventure golf course was built in 2012 by City Golf, after Nicky and his team had spent many hours considering the best course type for their client base. Pirate themed, the course introduces new golfers and entertains existing players with risk and reward married to pure fun. Like the golf range, the adventure golf course is always immaculately presented, and is a fine example of a golf themed leisure attraction.

The coffee shop serves delicious Starbucks drinks, and superbly complements the centre with a choice of the latest cappuccinos, lattes and cakes, mixed with an array of frappuccinos and ice creams which are focused towards a younger audience. It is perfectly located overlooking the adventure golf course, so that those people not engaged in the activity of putting can watch their loved ones enjoy the course while they have a bit of quiet time to themselves. A parent’s paradise!

In fact, this part of the business grew so quickly that Nicky realised that parties and groups were going to be a big part of the business in the future. With that in mind, he opened a function / conference room and due to demand has recently added another. Both are hired out regularly to groups of people wishing to hold meetings and also to those wanting to do team building exercises, which can include a round of adventure golf or hitting balls on the driving range. With the centre’s first-class location, it is not surprising that the function rooms are very popular with all sorts of different clients.

Not surprisingly, the golf academy at the Bristol golf Centre is another beacon of excellence. Golf lessons are available with PGA Qualified Professionals to fit every pocket on either an individual or group basis and specialist teaching is accessible to all.

The centre is also in an excellent location. It is just off the M32 at Junction 1, 2 minutes from M4 Junction 19, is less than 10 minutes from the centre of Bristol, and is next to a Holiday Inn hotel. The University of the West of England and Bristol Business Park are both less than one mile away.

The Bristol Golf Centre is a perfect example of a beautifully run golf business and there will be lots of interest in those wishing to purchase it. Unusually for such a centrally located range, it is also freehold so it really is a fantastic investment opportunity. With 11.5 acres of freehold throwing off an EBITDA of over £400,000 per annum, this is a once in a generation chance to invest in a thoroughly run and well thought out golf centre.
