Slinfold Golf and Country Club has recently installed robots in their driving range outfield to collect the range balls, cut the grass and reduce overheads. The introduction of robot mowing technology can also be seen in their par 3 course to cut the grass. The robots form part of an automated outfield maintenance service solution, managed by Automated Managed Services Ltd (AMS). 

The robot installation requires no capital outlay from the facility and is a cost effective solution to the chores of outfield maintenance. All it takes to get started is a no obligation simple site appraisal from one of the AMS team to access the viability of the site. They then calculate a monthly cost based on the previous 12 month ball output of the facility. Their Range Ball Plan cost per ball agreement covers the collection, wash and return of the golf balls to the dispenser and the mowing of the whole outfield 3 to 5 times a week.

How did you find the installation process?

"Very good, the team was very helpful. The process did take a while longer than expected, but overall the team was very hardworking and professional."

 

What did the installation process entail?

"The installation process took place over two stages. The first stage was the introduction of BigMow to cut the grass on our par 3 course in September. Then we had the installation of BigMow,  BallPicker and ball wash system in our driving range in early October."

What kind of feedback have you received?

"We have had nothing but positive feedback about the robots -. everyone seems to enjoy watching the new robot technology in action. We have even had some positive words from our men's captain at a recent dinner."
