AMS Robotics is a leading UK provider of automated golf course and driving range management solutions, supported by a national team of field-based engineers managing and maintaining customer robotic assets across the UK.
Autonomous Mowing | Ball Picking | Ball Washing & Return | Managed Support
Our approach is about more than introducing robotic machinery. We work with golf clubs, resorts and driving range operators to develop new ways of working – using automation to reduce operating costs, improve grass conditioning, increase productivity and allow skilled teams to focus their time where it adds the greatest value.
Smarter Course Management
Robotic mowing can be programmed around the individual requirements of the course, providing regular, consistent maintenance across areas such as:
- Fairways
- Driving range outfields
- Practice areas
- Semi-rough and suitable rough areas
- Tee surrounds and other appropriate maintained areas
By adopting a little-and-often mowing approach, robotic mowing removes small amounts of grass regularly rather than relying solely on periodic conventional cutting.
This can encourage a denser and more consistent grass sward, improve presentation and return fine clippings naturally to the turf.
It also provides an opportunity to redeploy experienced greenkeeping teams onto the skilled agronomic and presentation work that requires their expertise.
Automated Driving Range Management
For driving ranges, AMS can take automation beyond mowing.
The AMS Golf Range Solution integrates autonomous outfield mowing with automated golf ball picking, washing and return, reducing some of the most repetitive and time-consuming activities associated with operating a busy range.
Mow → Pick → Wash → Return → Repeat
Range balls are autonomously collected from the outfield, transferred through the washing system and returned to your ball dispenser ready for customer use. This creates a more continuous operation with less dependence on staff driving conventional ball-picking equipment.
Reduce Operating Costs. Improve Course Conditioning.
Automation provides golf operators with an opportunity to reconsider how labour, machinery and resources are deployed across the entire facility.
Potential benefits include:
- Reduced repetitive labour
- Lower conventional machinery operating costs
- Reduced fuel and energy requirements
- More productive use of greenkeeping teams
- Consistent mowing throughout the week
- Improved grass conditioning through frequent mowing
- Reduced dependence on heavier machinery
- Consistent course and outfield presentation
- A more sustainable approach to golf facility management
Technology Supported by People
Successful automation isn’t simply about supplying a robot. AMS provides a managed solution, combining robotic technology with the people and infrastructure required to support it.
From initial site appraisal and system design through to installation, commissioning and ongoing operation, our national team supports customers throughout the lifecycle of their robotic assets.
A New Way of Working in Golf
We don’t believe automation is simply about replacing people or replacing one machine with another. It is about creating a different operating model.
By automating repetitive and time consuming tasks, golf facilities can make better use of skilled people, reduce their reliance on conventional machinery and focus resources on the areas that have the greatest impact on course conditioning and presentation.
Every golf facility is different, which is why our process starts with understanding how yours operates today.
