Your Golf Booking – The New Range Booking System

First, the advent of technology really started to take hold: Top Tracer, Inrange and other companies began to sell hi-spec technology into the range bays in what were once dowdy and bleak golf ranges. This allowed for a completely different user experience, with several people sharing a bay, games being played, and laughter readily available.  All of a sudden, a trip to a golf range was fun.

Secondly, Covid-19 struck the planet. This created a pent up demand for sport such as golf which could be played whilst many other activiites were impossible.  Pressure on golf range bays became intense and many operators turned to the idea of booking their bays in advance with online payments. Your Golf Booking (YGB) system were well in front of this curve with their new software, where appointments can be made for golf range sessions, lessons, tee times and Footgolf rounds.  The technology works well.

Customer Centric

Today’s consumer expects to be able to purchase online. Customers love YGB because it gives them certainty that they’ll get to play at the time they booked, in the bay that they booked. They get to create an account with your venue, see their previous orders, and (if you enable it) purchase loyalty card top-ups to use at your venue.

Declan Malone who runs several golf centres and N1Golf, is the co-founder of Your Golf Booking. Declan explains:

“Within the first month we had an 84% uptake from customers choosing to use YGB for their bookings, instead of just turning up. A few months on and it’s now 90% to 100% depending on how busy the range is. We have had a system in place for over 4 years now. YGB has been developed in conjunction with test and trials at an actual venue - Greenwich Peninsula Golf Range. During the first lock down we decided to make further improvements and it soon became apparent that this could work for all venues. It’s all very well seeing certain trade introductions at all the larger venues, but this works with all sizes of golf ranges and smaller venues, not to mention being extremely cost effective. It pays for itself 10 times over.

“I cannot emphasise how fundamental YGB is to your business. If you do not have it, you are falling behind and losing revenue - it really is that simple. Since introducing the system, YGB has been successful at my all my venues ranging 15 bays, 24 bays, Footgolf courses, 9 hole courses and especially our adventure mini golf centres. This to me was the true test and I am delighted with the results from all angles, for my customers, my staff, admin and revenues.”

The YGB system can help you to capture and retain customers - their data is automatically added to the system when they make a booking. If a customer has a good experience where they don’t have to queue, and already know their bay will be free, they will come back.

Your Business, Your Rules

It does not matter what size your range is, YGB is already helping small venues like Morpeth Family Golf centre with 15 bays, all the way up to the Greenwich Peninsula Driving range with 60 bays. If you have got a driving range, then YGB can maximise your sales and minimise your effort; it makes sure you get the most out of every minute at your range.

YGB helps you productise your offering, having realised that a golf range’s asset is time spent at its bays, not just baskets of balls. YGB is versatile enough to set your venue up exactly the way you want it to be run.

It is your business, so it is important your customers recognise you. YGB’s pages can be branded up to your own venue: when customers land on your booking page, they know they are in the right place.

Plays Nicely With Others

Already running EGM or RangeServant Dispensers, or looking at taking your venue to the next level with Inrange?  YGB has already partnered with them to provide integrations and give you and your customers the best experience possible.

YGB can automatically generate barcodes for EGM and Range Servant dispensers. As soon as a customer books at your venue, they get access to a unique barcode they can scan right at your dispensers to get their balls. They can scan it straight off their phones, or ask for a receipt from reception. If you are running Inrange in-bay technology, YGB can send your customer pins in their booking confirmation and let them sign straight into the tee-side Inrange terminals themselves. Staff no longer need to keep hold of pins and hand-write them on receipts.

With YGB, you are in control of your own business. Opt for a check-in style setup, or go fully automated. Either way, take the pain away from staff and let your venue run seamlessly.

Tracking Your Performance

At any moment you can flick ahead and see how busy your venue is. You no longer have to wait and see who walks through the door, they’ve already paid by the time they do.

If you want a real insight into your performance, YGB’s reporting system is completely live, giving you minute by minute sales breakdowns for your different product types, against any time period you like.

Managing Financials

Already have an existing relationship with your payment provider? No problem, YGB can build an integration for just about any online payment provider, and support a few excellent choices straight out of the box. Our existing relationships mean we can help you get the best rates for your venue.

Our preferred providers also mean you can get your funds processed into your bank by the next working day, with great control over refunds. Stay cash positive and secure in the knowledge that your revenue has already come in by the time someone comes to your venue.

We know for a fact that a customer who has already paid is much more likely to attend their booking. You no longer have to worry about time-wasting telephone bookings, not knowing if they’ll show up, and legitimate customers never have to be disappointed by not getting to play.

Is it Expensive?

YGB completely scales to your venue, and they want it to be accessible to anyone. The base price for a driving range is £2 per bay, per month.

If you have 10 bays, it’s £20 per month, plus VAT.

If you have 50 bays, it’s £100 per month, plus VAT.

The only other cost is payment processing, and this depends on how many sales you make, any existing relationships with providers, and the provider you choose. Depending on your turnover, processing fees tend to range between 1% and 3% of online sales. Remember though, you only pay the processing fee for online purchases. If you take the payment through your till, it’s completely free!

What About My Golf Course?

YGB also has a live online tee time system, again completely personalised to your venue.

You can keep all of your bookings in one place. Whether this be for a full course, 9 hole courses, Footgolf or even adventure golf.

Families and parties love to book ahead and make arrangements, YGB gives them this option with the click of a button. Link a  “Book Now” button straight from your website or social media page and let your customers convert instantly.

YGB is a new, UK based startup that is gaining traction fast. They have got some big plans and want to revolutionise the way you take bookings for your driving range. They are certain you won’t want to go back after trying it out. In the New Year, they are going to start bringing customers straight to you, not just facilitating your bookings. Watch this space for some exciting developments, and get in touch now to be a part of it early.

YGB will soon be allowing golf pros and academies to start managing their teaching clients through YGB, and easing the logistical hassle of reserving bays for your resident pros. It also means you will get the most out of your bays when they aren’t being used for lessons.
