The partnership between Damai Indah and the disruptive practice and entertainment range technology company brings a whole new experience to Jakarta.
At the end of October, the Damai Indah group opened the doors to a stunning new build range: The Range, powered by Inrange Golf. With three levels of hitting bays equipped with touchscreen devices, VIP areas and multiple food and beverage offerings to go with their social experience, the venue is set to redefine the driving range experience in Indonesia.
The project marks a major step for both Damai Indah as well as for Inrange Golf who are touching down in the region for the first time. After visiting the venue in early September, and spending time in the region, Inrange co-founder Nick Longley had this to say:
“Introducing Inrange to Indonesia marks the next step in launching our Experience Range concept around the world. We all know that the range is about so much more than just a ‘bucket of balls’ nowadays, and Damai Indah are making golf a game for everyone - which aligns brilliantly with our own mission statement. Southeast Asia is incredibly keen on golf, with a lot of active players, and the ability to offer something for both the practice and social player, is going to be key to business success for ranges in the region, something we are incredibly excited to be a part of.”
Inrange Golf’s software brings people together to play against one another in a friendly but competitive, technology-driven social golf experience. Their partner ranges in the USA, UK, UAE and South Africa are already noticing the difference in their bottom line, with sites seeing a 2x or more revenue increase when adopting their experience range business model. And with Inrange installations planned in Australia, the Netherlands, Mexico, Vietnam and further expansion in the USA before the end of 2022, it seems that this is fast becoming the future of the driving range.
The Damai Indah site design and build was overseen by visionary Damai Indah Group Director Sian Christine Wiradinata - who is equally excited to finally have the venue open for business.
“We know that for what we want to offer our visitors, both a great golf practice as well as a golf entertainment experience. So Inrange was the perfect partner for us. Seeing visitors on the range experience exactly what we had envisioned, is very rewarding.”
The site is now open for business and guests are coming in from across the region to try out this innovative and modern day golf experience.
And while we are in Asia - following on from the Asia Pacific Golf Summit (APGS) of 2022, hosted at the Hoiana Hotel & Resort, was the Asian Golf Awards evening. The best clubs, facilities and businesses from across Asia flew in to attend the gala event, and collect their trophies.
On the night, clubs were recognised in various categories including Best Course, Best Clubhouse, Best Guest Experience and Best General Manager. Included within the Special and Honorary category was an award for The Best Innovation of the year, which was awarded to Inrange Golf.
Mike Sebastian, host and organiser of the event for the last 2 decades had this to say about their win:
“Asia is crying out for innovation in the golf space, and it’s finally here. Ever since I learned about Inrange Golf and their technology, I have been very excited about what this could do for our wonderful game. Driving ranges are no longer an amenity, they can be a serious revenue generator and the Inrange Digital Range Concept is an innovation that is pivotal for our clubs and course developers going forward.”
Co-founder and Chief Customer Officer at Inrange Nick Longley, who was present at the conference before heading to Korea for expansion plans in the region, explains:
“This event was a great opportunity for the South East Asia golf community to come together and share ideas, learn about best practices and most importantly, start to think about the future success of their facility. We believe our Experience Range methodology fits perfectly to this golf-centric and tech driven market and see some very exciting times ahead for Inrange in Asia.”
With the newest Inrange Experience Range having opened its doors in Jakarta last month, South East Asia clubs and businesses are already planning their next trip - to Indonesia to visit The Range@ Damai Indah PIK.
Having already been awarded a top 5 place on the SportTech50 awards list this year, Inrange Golf seems to be on a golden pathway to success right now, with expansion into many new countries and territories in 2023 already on the cards. Watch this space.
